This past Saturday (June 13th) was my cousin Sandy’s bridal shower. Since she and most of her family live out of state, and the party was local, I was allowed to attend with Michelle and Alexander. The men that did attend ended up watching the Mets vs. Yankee game while the festivities were taking place in the back yard of Sandy’s Aunt’s house in Merrick. Here are some pictures from the day:

We had a great time at Aunt Geraldine’s surprise 50th Birthday party thrown by my Uncle Tony on June 7th. It was held at their friend Linda’s house in Amityville on the South Shore of Long Island.

Happy Easter everyone! We are heading to my in-laws today for a late dinner. Before that we are going to the cemetary and then to visit Michelle’s Grandma Sophie with the baby.

All, I have uploaded a lot of new pictures of Alexander and added them to the Gallery.

Well, I finished up the work on the Contour last Sunday (11/23) but not without some drama. It turns out I needed to shim the new Focus SVT Calipers with a 3mm washer to clear the rotor. I remembered that AFTER I pulled the car out of the garage and subsequently gouged the new rotors. Damage is nothing really, but annoying none the less. Here is what I ended up having to do to the car just to repair the driver’s side wheel bearing:

  • Replace Bearing ($35 part + $35 labor)
  • Upgraded rotors, pads, calipers to SVT Focus parts ($330 parts)
  • Replace driver’s side axle shaft. I accidentally melted the CV joint boot with torch trying to remove ball joint pinch bolt ($135 for 2 new axles, only replaced 1)
  • Change transmission fluid which leaked out with shaft removed ($38 Royal Purple Synchromax)
  • Repair shift cable end linkage. Bushing was almost gone and clip was missing! ($0, some rubber hose and a c-clip I had lying around)

So, I drove the car to the Hospital on Tuesday morning and it was running great, no wheel bearing noise and the brakes worked great. Later that night, I noticed the wheel bearing noise was back but was too tired to care. After some investigation, it turns out that the passenger side bearing is now shot! So, back into the garage with the Contour for more frustrating work.

Some pictures of the new parts installed on the car:

After a long wait, Baby Alexander is finally here!

  • Born 11/24/2008, 6:59 PM Eastern Time
  • 8 Pounds, 14 ounces
  • 21 inches long

Michelle and Baby are both doing amazingly well. Here are some pictures with more info to come later on.

Well, Jen and Craig’s baby anyway!

Jen (Lopez) and Craig Philips gave birth to a beautiful Baby Girl on Saturday.

Jade Caroline Phillips was born Saturday Morning (9:30?) weighing 8lb 1oz and measuring 20 inches.

Michelle and I visited them this evening and everyone is doing well. Jen looked great after giving birth just 36 hours earlier and Jade is just adorable. Congratulation and Best of luck to the new parents!

Hey all, we finally finished up the Baby Nursery last weekend (11/8). We picked up the crib from Michelle’s cousin Christine (THANKS CHRISTINE & ED!), put it together and put on the crib set.

Some pictures are below, there are more in the Photo Gallery

Michelle and I went to the doctor today for the 20-week checkup. Prior to seeing the doctor we had a lengthy sonogram session and all images came back positive.
We have to go back next week for another sonogram since baby was not being cooperative. The Sono Tech could not get a clear shot of the umbilical cord so we need to go back have it re-imaged.

Here are the two that we were given…
